Political Gladiators malign Gov. Ugwuanyi In Igbo-Eze North Local Government

By Comrade Emeka Jude Omeh

It is no longer a secret affair that some power drunk politicians in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area in Enugu State are wrestling power with their supposed leader, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Executive Governor of Enugu State ahead of the forthcoming PDP Primary elections to internally select those who will fly the flag of the State rulling party in different elective positions come 2023.

This gang up against Governor Ugwuanyi has been orchestrated by a national Legislator in Igbo-Eze North, who represents Udenu/Igbo-Eze North in Federal House of Representatives, Hon.Engr. Simon Atigwe.

Atigwe has been secretly undermining and wrestling power with Gov. Ugwuanyi by Using Hon. Ikechukwu Ogbu known and called “Ogbu Ugo” Deputy Mayor, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area to commit a good number of the delegates in Igbo Eze North to an Oath in the shrine to ensure that they vote for him, Atigwe and against any other aspirants for House of Representatives come 2023.

Remember that Hon. Engr. Atigwe is a first term federal lawmaker and he is bent on clinching power by all means in the forthcoming PDP Primary election for House of Representatives.

He has bought over the following leaders in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area and they are all bent on ambushing Governor Ugwuanyi during the PDP Primary election on 20th of May, 2023; Rt. Hon. Nze Mike Onyeze, PDP Zonal Chairman in Enugu North, Hon. Alexander Uramah, PDP chairman Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, HRH Igwe Ogbonna Ekere, Traditional Ruler, Ogrute-Ulo Autonomous community, Hon. Onyekachi Eya, SSA to Governor Ugwuanyi, Nze Chidi Nwa Omeh, SSA to Ugwuanyi, Comrade Uwakwe Ezeja, former Council chairman/ SSA to Governor Ugwuanyi, HRH Igwe Cyril Ayogu of Umuopu Autonomous community etc and this leaders in order to achieve their self aim have gathered and endorsed Hon. Engr Atigwe at the palace of HRH Igwe Wilfred Ogbonna Ekere.

It is good to remember that Igwe Wilfred Ogbonna Ekere is a gullible politician/traditional ruler at the same time. He flies to any directions just as flies do when it first perceive the odour of faeces. Poverty and laziness have eaten deep into HRH Igwe Wilfred Ogbonna Ekere and he has resorted to taking bribes from Atigwe and used his palace as an office for unmerited endorsement for second tenure.

As this attitude has become so chronic in HRH Igwe Wilfred Ogbonna Ekere, he did the same when Hon. Emeka Ugwunze was the transition chairman of Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area. He was given the position for an interim for Comrade Uwakwe Ezeja to emerge in elective position but when Igwe Wilfred Ogbonna Ekere collected one Million naira bribe, he started convincing Governor Ugwuanyi to endorse Ugwunze for continuity. What a shame?

Atigwe in his desperation has held a secret meeting with 36 members of the newly elected ward adhoc delegates at his country home in Aji and assembling job of the delegates was perfected by Hon. Onyekachi Eya.

Few days ago, the vultures gathered at the Compound of Atigwe and made their lists of candidates for the forthcoming PDP Primary elections where Hon. Nze Mike Onyeze projected Hon. Tochukwu Mamah from Onicha Enugu Ezike for House of Assembly to represent Ozzi even when all of us know that Hon. Linus Ali from Onicha Enugu-Ezike handed over to Mike Onyeze. Let it also be known that Tochukwu Mamah is related to Onyeze by marriage. On hearing this, I asked myself is this what these people preach? No! They preach ebe asiri anyi jebe bu anyi ga eje but do the contrary in the night or has the white Lion roared already? I ask again; is this the essence of the oath being administered to some gullible delegates? They believe that even if the governor gives a contrary directive against their desired candidate(s), they will still vote against the governor’s wish.

My conclusion is that Governor Ugwuanyi should rise up to this occasion before Hon. Engr. Atigwe turns him(Governor) to his mere follower. The clock is ticking and I pray the governor and the leadership of the party to call these stray politicians to order. Infact ,this is desperation taken afar.
