RULAAC Condemns Arrest, Prosecution Of Influencer

The Rule of Law and Accountability Advocacy Centre (RULAAC) has condemned the arrest and prosecution of a civilian whistleblower, describing it as a violation of fundamental rights.

In a statement, RULAAC said Mark Chidiebere, also known as “Justice Crack,” was allegedly arrested by the Nigerian military after posting comments online about the welfare of soldiers on the frontlines.

RULAAC accused authorities of targeting him for speaking out on alleged poor conditions affecting troops.

The group also criticised his handover to the Department of State Services and subsequent prosecution, calling it repression rather than lawful enforcement.

It raised concerns over his treatment during the arrest and called for accountability for those involved.

RULAAC demanded his immediate and unconditional release, along with an independent investigation into the incident.

The group warned that the case could discourage whistleblowers and human rights defenders from speaking out.

The matter is currently before the Federal High Court in Abuja and has been adjourned to May 25, 2026.
