School Bus Tragedy: MASSOB mourns school children, condoles with Enugu state govt

The leadership of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has conveyed its deep condolences to the government and people of Enugu State following the tragedy that occurred in the state last week which involved school children.

The tragedy which occurred around the Awgu area of the state claimed no fewer than 21 lives most of which were school children.

MASSOB also commiserated with the Deputy leader of MASSOB, Chief Ikechukwu Ekwe who is from Awgu and whose wards were involved in the sad incident.

A statement signed by the national leader of the group, Comrade Uchenna MADU read in part: “MASSOB extends our condolences to the government and people of Enugu state. The unfortunate death of innocent school children is a big loss to Ndi Enugu and Ndigbo in general. It is an irredeemable and irreplaceable loss.

“They are young and vibrant minded children that were eagerly and earnestly waiting to take charge of their future and destiny through qualitative education and upbringing, impact their generation.

“They died with the consciousness of who they are, they died with the awareness of hardship and persecutions facing the Igbo nation, they died with the consciousness and hope of being citizens of a free and independent nation.”

MASSOB stressed that the children shall be remembered for all time and their death will re-energise its resolve towards self-determination and emancipation of the people of Biafra.
