Sit-at-home: Normal Business Resume In Enugu

Normal business activities have resumed in the cities of Enugu State after weeks of sit-at-home in the South East region of Nigeria.

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, had declared sit-at-home every monday in the South East to press for the release of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu who’s currently with the Department of State Services, DSS.

The order received serious backlash from many persons in the region that argued that the order will harm, if not destroy the economy of the zone. The leadership of IPOB listened to the complaints and called off the sit-at-home order and said it will now be observed whenever its leader will be making appearance in court.

Despite the cancellation, hoodlums took over the enforcement of the order which includes the burning of vehicles and it’s content.

However, our correspondent who went out to monitor how the day is going said business activities have resumed in the cities as shooing malls, filling stations and some markets opened.

Also, some banks in Rangers Avenue opened for business, timber market is gradually coming back to life on Mondays unlike the previous Mondays.
