Suspected Chadian terrorist’s wife, two others arrested in Kano

The Police Command in Kano state on Friday paraded the wife of Ahmad Adam Abba, the suspected Chadian terrorist who reportedly masterminded last week’s aborted terrorist attack in Kano during the National Tijjaniyya Maulud ceremony.

She was arrested with Jibrin Mohammed, 42, another Chadian, and a Nigerian associate who provided accommodation for the Chadian terrorists.

Commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo Garba, who briefed reporters at the command’s headquarters, Bompai, said the wanted terrorist, Ahmad Adam Abba, had masterminded the killing of 17 people in Chad before relocating to Kano.

“You will recall that on 24th January, 2025, the Command released a security alert, calling on the public to exercise caution and report any suspicious person or item to the authority following series of intelligence reports from various intelligence agencies about the presence of suspected terrorists in the State.

“Acting on one of the intelligence reports, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were recovered with discreet investigations in progress.

“Also, a wanted suspected terrorist, Ahmad Adam Abba, a Chadian National, who masterminded the killing of 17 people in Republic of Chad, was identified planning to set a terrorists base in Kano.

“The wanted Chadian suspected terrorist escaped out of Nigeria and we have successfully apprehended three of the suspect’s associates, including his wife, another Chadian named Jibrin Mohammed, 42 years old, and a Nigerian.

“They were arrested following a thorough investigation and intelligence-led policing, and are currently in custody with investigation ongoing,” he said.

Garba announced that the Command has dismantled the Chadian terrorist’s networks and neutralise any potential, while ramping up intelligence-gathering efforts across various places.
