Ugochinyere: APC chieftains can’t expel PDP leader from party — PDP chairmen forum

In a strong show of unity, solidarity and support, the 27 Chairmen of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) across the state led by Barr.Uche Alisigwe alongside the Ward Executive leadership have firmly declared that Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, the member representing Ideato North and South Federal Constituency, has not been expelled from the party.

This assertion comes following the circulation of false documents claiming his expulsion, which party officials have described as a “mischievous and disingenuous” attempt to undermine Ugochinyere’s standing within the PDP.

Another press release, signed by Emeka Eze, PDP Chairman for Ideato North LGA, and Mattias Onuebunwa, PDP Chairman for Umukegwu/Umuopia Ward, emphasizes the party’s unwavering support for Ugochinyere. Their press statement categorically rejects the rumors of Ugochinyere’s expulsion and urges the public to disregard such disinformation, which they attributed to infiltrators aligned with pro-APC factions.

“The claims are as false as they are mischievous,” the release stated, underscoring that Ugochinyere has instead been a committed no-nonsense advocate for the party, consistently fighting against what they term “political traitors” openly aligned with the ruling party.

The chairmen expressed gratitude for Ugochinyere’s dedication to preserving the integrity of the PDP while resisting attempts by those within the party’s national leadership to sell out its values.

In a concurrent move, the Forum of 27 Imo PDP Chairmen convened an emergency meeting where they unanimously recognized Ugochinyere’s leadership potential by nominating him as the State Leader of the PDP. This decision comes as part of a broader strategy to reorganize and rebuild the party following a tumultuous period that has seen loss of critical stakeholders and increased factionalism.

During this emergency session, it was emphasized that Ugochinyere is the highest elected public office holder still committed to the PDP and that his leadership will be instrumental in reconciling the party amidst alleged infiltration by loyalists of the rival APC.

The chairmen expressed their resolve to distance the PDP from transactional politicians who perceive public trust as item of merchandise, having sold their souls to Mammon.

The statement cited both the National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu and Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum as instigators of the recent crisis and disinformation, as expressly commanded by their Paymaster, the only ‘PDP minister in an APC Federal Government’.

“Having passed out vote of implicit confidence on him, we wish to state that Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere remains a bonafide member of our party and will continue to have our support and loyalty until the invaders of our party are shown the way out,” the release stressed.
