VIDEO: El-Rufai tests positive to COVID-19, as CUPP prays for governor’s recovery

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state earlier today tested positive to the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the globe.

This is also as the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) reached out to the governor wishing him a speedy recovery.

Characteristic of Governor El-Rufai, he announced the outcome of his COVID-19 test today through a short video to the people of Kaduna state to dispel any speculation about his status.

In a somber tone, he stated that the result of his test returned positive.

He however enjoined the people of Kaduna state to adopt strict safety procedures and measures as directed by the relevant authorities assuring that his government will provide the necessary support to the people through the period of the pandemic.

In a swift reaction, the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has extended their hand of brotherhood to the Kaduna state governor, praying for his prompt recovery.

The opposition coalition also used the opportunity to encourage Nigerians while assuring them that “we can beat this virus”.

A statement released by the CUPP spokesman, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere read in part:

“We wish Gov Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state who today tested positive to the coronavirus and the over 89 other Nigerians who have tested positive to the virus quick recovery.

“Let’s continue to stay safe, maintain social distancing, remain at home if possible and follow all instructions issued out by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. I have no doubt we can beat this virus”.
