Verification

However, a simple keyword search on Google, indicated that it was an old video in July 2021. Not recent.

Channels Television reported in 2021 that the Emir of Muri Empire in Taraba State, Abbas Tafida issued a 30-day ultimatum to herders terrorizing residents of the state to vacate forests within the state or be forced to do so.

This follows a rising spate of kidnappings, killings, and attacks in the state by criminals suspected to be herders.

He claimed that Fulani herders are responsible for perpetrating crimes in the state and should, therefore, vacate forests in the state within 30 days or be forced out.

The Emir, who spoke in the Hausa language, urged the leadership of Fulani Herdsmen to fish out the bad eggs among them.

In August 2021, after the Emir issued a 30-day ultimatum for cattle herders to vacate forests in the state or be flushed out, a Fulani herders’ group in the state say they are working hard to fish out criminals in their ranks.

The leadership of Miyetti Allah said it disturbed by the spate of abductions and other criminal activities in the state being blamed on herders

Miyetti Allah said the leaders had held a series of meetings and resolved “to crush the criminal elements among our groups.”

They noted that they have sworn to an oath not to harbor criminals and to also expose sponsors of bandits, no matter the positions they hold in the society.

Urging the emir to give them time to fulfill their house cleaning pledge, the group promised the communities would work closely with security agencies to ensure the criminal elements among them are brought to book.

Conclusion

The circulation of the video showing a Taraba Emir Issuing an ultimatum to Fulani herders as recent is MISLEADING.
