Why we arrested Regina Daniels’ brother – Police

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command says it has arraigned Samuel Ojeogwu, brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, before a court in Abuja on allegations of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft.

The spokesperson for the Command, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed the development in a statement on Friday, noting that it followed a petition submitted to the FCT Metro Area Command on October 28, 2025, against Ojeogwu and three others.

She said, “On 28th October 2025, the FCT Metro Area Command received a petition against one Mr Samuel Ojeogwu, and three others, alleging criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyber-bullying.”

According to Adeh, Ojeogwu allegedly ignored several police invitations before being arrested in Lagos and taken to Abuja for investigation.

“Mr Ojeogwu was arrested in Lagos on the authority of a duly issued arrest warrant from a competent court and subsequently conveyed to Abuja for further investigation,” she said.

Adeh added that Ojeogwu was later arraigned before a court in Abuja on November 6, 2025.

“Upon the conclusion of investigations, the suspect was on the 6th of November 2025 charged in court for offences bordering on criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, and theft.”

She noted that he has been remanded pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.

“He has been remanded by the court pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions,” she stated.

Adeh reaffirmed the command’s adherence to due process, saying, “The FCT Police Command remains committed to professional policing, due process, and the rule of law.”

The case comes amid heightened family tension involving Regina Daniels, who recently appeared in a viral video crying over her brother’s detention.

In the video, she could be heard saying, “I will go back,” while lamenting the situation.

Her reaction followed recent claims of domestic strain with her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, whom she earlier accused of abuse.

Nwoko has denied the allegations, blaming her behaviour on alleged drug and alcohol abuse and insisting she undergo rehabilitation.
