Several Students Feared Abducted As Terrorists Attack School In Borno

An unspecified number of students have reportedly been abducted by suspected Boko Haram insurgents at Mussa-Biri Primary and Junior Day Secondary Schools in the Askira-Uba local government area of Borno State.

Channels Television gathered that the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, when the students were in classes receiving lessons.

An eyewitness claimed that the terrorists arrived on a large number of motorcycles a few minutes after the military on routine patrol had left the area.

“The terrorists arrived on motorcycles and abducted an unspecified number of students in the Primary as well as the Junior Secondary School located in the Mussa-Biri community,” a local source said.

Another source confirmed to Channels Television at 1.51 pm (Friday) that the students and one of their teachers abducted have been released, with only four students still at large.

The spokesman of the Borno State Police Command, Nahum Daso, when contacted, said the network was very poor, and he could not reach the divisional police officer in charge of Askira-Uba.

Mussa is located at the fringes of the Sambisa Forest and has been witnessing the abduction of farmers in recent times.
